We're all shocked and horrified. He's a nice guy who has a great family practice. No prescription shenanigans, nothing. He's the chair of the AR medical board for cryin out loud. I'm just...so sad.

My daughter works at BMHC (Baptist Hospital - part of a huge system) in Heber Springs, AR. This letter was sent to the VP's secretary by that vile American Family Assoc. and then she forwarded it to ALL the employees. I hope there's some kind of policy that will allow her to be dismissed or at least reprimanded, but I won't hold my breath. Donald Wildmon needs to STFU and sit in the corner - bound and gagged - and that secretary person needs to be right there with him. Furthermore, everyone start drinking Pepsi products NOW!!! Here's the letter:

PepsiCo gives $1,000,000 to help promote the gay agenda

Company forces employees to attend sexual orientation classes

January 8, 2009

Dear Jan,

PepsiCo has refused a request by AFA to remain neutral in the culture war. The company indicated that it will continue major financial support of homosexual organizations. AFA wrote Pepsi two times (on October 14 and October 29) requesting a meeting to discuss Pepsi’s neutrality in the culture war.

On November 17, AFA received a condescending letter (dated Nov. 7) from Paul Boykas, director, public policy, in which he refused to address Pepsi’s support of the homosexual agenda.

In the last two years, Pepsi has given $500,000 to the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and $500,000 to the Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG). The $1,000,000 was to be used to help promote homosexuality in the workplace. Pepsi refuses to give money to any pro-family organization that opposes the homosexual agenda. Plus, every homosexual organization we know of is overwhelmingly pro-abortion.

Both HRC and PFLAG supported efforts in California to defeat Proposition 8 which defined marriage as being between a man and a woman. HRC, the homosexual group financially supported by Pepsi, gave $2.3 million to defeat Prop 8.

Pepsi forces all employees to attend sexual orientation and gender identity diversity training where they are taught to accept homosexuality.
Take Action!

• Sign the Boycott Pepsi Pledge. After signing the pledge, please call Pepsi (914-253-2000 or 1-800-433-2652) and tell the company you will boycott their products until they stop promoting the homosexual agenda.
• Call the Pepsi bottler nearest you and ask the bottler to ask Pepsi to stop supporting the homosexual agenda.
• Pepsi’s products include Pepsi soft drinks, Frito-Lay chips (800-352-4477), Quaker Oats (800-367-6287), Tropicana (800-237-7799) and Gatorade (800-367-6287).
• Print out the Boycott Pepsi Pledge and distribute.
• Forward this e-mail to your friends and family so they will know about Pepsi’s support of the homosexual agenda. Millions of people are not aware of Pepsi’s support of homosexual organizations.

Thank you for caring enough to get involved. If you feel our efforts are worthy of support, would you consider making a small tax-deductible contribution to help us continue?

Sincerely,

Don

Donald E. Wildmon,
Founder and Chairman
American Family Association

AAAIIIEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! We've been frantically cleaning and painting and rearranging, oh my! Nothing like the last minute to get our asses in gear. I'm also trying to get all my clients seen and Christmas shopping finished. At least the online shopping. I've been buying books at Powell's & Amazon, tea at The Tao of Tea and oddments and stocking stuffers at some of the geek/Lovecraft etailers. I'm browsing The Soap Box Co. right now and found their weekly bonanza:

The in laws arrive the 11th in Memphis. Fortunately, their flight doesn't get in until 6:30pm, so I can actually work that day. There is still a metric arseton of Things To Do before they arrive but the list got slashed to the absolute rock bottom, bare bones musts today. John has finals all week, they arrive Thursday and graduation is Saturday. We're having a party afterward so all my friends will have an excuse to come gawk at my mother in law. hee! She was such a rude cow last year. Now she's on my turf. I'm going to be so fucking nice to her, my teeth may fall out from all the sugar in my mouth. Today, my mom & I went to Lowe's, Sherwin Williams, Sam's & WalMerde to get paint/house/grocery/party stuff. OMG my feet are on fire and my back packed up and moved to Bolivia at least 3 hours before I was finished shopping. We got home about 10:30 and left anything that wouldn't die of freezing in the car. I hope I can manage to go at least 6 months before setting foot back in any of those stores. And if I ever, EVER say anything about thinking about considering maybe stripping wallpaper, please SHOOT ME IN THE HEAD!!!!

I had my sweet Nadine put to sleep this evening. She was 18. The mobile vet came to the house and I held Nadine through it all. We buried her on a little rise in the backyard and will plant a tree there. It was time, she's no longer in pain, platitude whatever - I hate it like hell and am real fucking sad. My heart hurts. I think I'd like to hit someone but don't know who.

I am thankful for my family. No, really. My dad & stepmom invited all of us (me, John & my mom) to have TDay with them. My mom's side of the family has become so small - it's just my mom, my 3 cousins who all live in or near Jeff City MO, one elderly great aunt and my mom's cousin. That's makes for meager holiday gatherings, especially since I see the cousins from MO about once every 2-3 years. I would have spent more holidays with my dad, but didn't want to deal with the drama of Leaving Mother Alone for some damn holiday. My mom & stepmom get along famously, which is a hoot - and kind of goobs my dad out, which is even a bigger hoot. Anyway, we all went and had a lovely day with lots of good food and chatter. The weather was fabulous and the drive was uneventful. Tomorrow, it's back to wallpaper removal FTW!

What are you thankful for?

December 10th, call in GAY! The date is also International Human Rights Day. The group is asking the LBGT community to boycott everything on that day - work, shopping, school - and do nothing to support the economy. This is the website: http://daywithoutagay.org/ If you're hetero/straight/fill-in-your-term-of-choice, you can be Gay For a Day and call in too.

I'll be working. That's where I encounter so many of the narrow-minded souls who voted for Arkansas Initiative 1, the ban on 'cohabiting unmarried couples' [read: gay] adopting or fostering children. Not getting on my soapbox not getting on my soapbox!!! *deep breath* Yeah.
